Spartan Race is the UK and Ireland arm of the global obstacle course racing brand, which began in 2010 on a farm in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Its events run from the short Sprint up to the Beast and the 50K Ultra, alongside DEKA fitness events, trail races, endurance challenges and children's races. The same site sells race passes and an online shop of men's, women's and kids' clothing, footwear, equipment and bags.
What stands out is the range of ways in. First-timers can start with a Sprint or a kids' race, while regulars can buy a Season or Trifecta pass for the year. The Spartan Edge membership adds monthly workouts, guaranteed start times and merchandise discounts, and there is a Spartan App and run club for training between events. The navigation also lists student, apprentice and youth discounts and group packages, which suit friends or work teams signing up together.
Buying is done online through the UK and Ireland site. Event entries and passes are the main purchase, with merchandise sold through a separate Spartan shop. The help centre covers registration, results, event-day preparation, volunteering and kids' races, and you can submit a request there if you need to ask about an entry. The delivery and returns page was not readable when we checked, so check it before ordering kit.
