SCUF Gaming makes performance controllers for PlayStation, Xbox and PC, built around features competitive players like, such as remappable back paddles and upgraded thumbsticks. Its UK store sells the full range, plus customisation kits, refurbished controllers in its Revival series and accessories.

It suits players who spend a lot of time in shooters, sports games or anything that rewards fast inputs, and who want more control than a standard pad gives them. It's also a good place to look for replacement parts, with paddles and thumbsticks sold separately.

Many SCUF controllers can be customised before you buy, and there's a separate Omega customisation kit if you'd like to change the look of a PS5 controller later. The accessories range also includes a Warzone desk mat, thumb grips, a Loadout backpack and Elite Series 2 thumbsticks.

What's worth a look

Here are six picks from the UK store, covering PS5, Xbox and PC.

PlayStation players should look at the SCUF Omega Smoke, a custom PS5 Pro controller with remappable paddles, at £209.99. On Xbox, the Valor Pro Wireless Smoke is reduced to £124.99 from £179.99. The wired Valor with TMR thumbsticks in Steel Gray is the lowest-priced controller here, at £73.99, down from £94.99.

PC players have two strong options. The Nemesis Pro 8K wireless controller (£189.99) is built around an 8K polling rate for competitive wireless play. The Envision Pro V2 (£159.99) uses Hall Effect sticks. If you already own an Xbox Elite Series 2, the SCUF Elite Series 2 Paddles cost £19.99 and are designed to cut the time between actions.

Prices on SCUF's product pages are for the standard design. Custom colours and extras can add to the total, so keep an eye on the running price as you build your controller.

Current offers

• Up to 25% off select controllers in SCUF's current "Built for the Heat" promotion, which has its own deals page.
• Both Valor Pro models above show reduced prices on their product pages, at £55 and £21 below their original prices.
• The refurbished category is worth a look alongside the deals page, as it's a separate way to pay less for a SCUF controller.

How to save more

• Check the deals page first. SCUF groups its reductions on one page, so you can see which controllers are reduced before you start customising.
• Consider refurbished. The Revival series sells refurbished SCUF controllers, a cheaper way to get the same features.
• Upgrade rather than replace. If your Elite controller still works, add-ons like the £19.99 paddles cost far less than a new pad.
