About Cratejoy
Cratejoy is an online marketplace for subscription boxes. Rather than making the boxes itself, it brings together independent sellers who curate and ship products on a recurring basis, and lets shoppers browse by interest: women's and men's boxes, kids and family, entertainment and gaming, food and drink, books, bath and beauty, self-care, spiritual, and home and garden. There is also a gift shop, seasonal shops and gift cards.
What stands out is the sheer range and the reassurance around it. Each box page carries ratings, reviews and questions from other subscribers, and the site runs a Purchase Protection scheme that covers orders that never ship or arrive damaged. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from the Manage subscriptions area of your account, and you still receive any boxes you have already paid for. Pausing is not offered, but you can cancel and come back later. It suits gift buyers and anyone who likes a regular surprise.
For UK shoppers the important point is that this is a US business. Prices are shown with a dollar sign and the site does not name the currency, and shipping, taxes and fees are worked out at checkout. Cratejoy's FAQ does not mention the UK; it says only that some sellers ship outside the United States, so check each box page for availability before you subscribe. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, and support is by email, answering within about one business day.
