Founded in 2014 and based in Amsterdam, the operator is Tiqets International BV, and it says it has sold more than 70 million tickets through thousands of venue partners.
What stands out is how easy it is to book on the day: tickets arrive by email straight after payment, can be stored offline in the Tiqets app, and many venues offer skip-the-line entry. The app also finds attractions nearby. Listings often show a percentage discount badge, for example up to 20% on the Colosseum, though the terms behind each badge are not spelled out. It suits holidaymakers and city-breakers who want to plan sightseeing before they travel.
For UK shoppers the site is set to pounds sterling and prices are shown per person including applicable taxes, with the total shown before you pay. Cancellation is only possible where the product description says so, and policies vary by venue. Refunds can be requested up to 28 days after the date your ticket is valid, and the EU withdrawal period does not apply to dated tickets. If a supplier cannot deliver tickets within 48 hours the order is refunded in full. A 24-hour support chat is also offered.
