TrainPal is an online train ticket retailer and app, run by Trainpal B.V., that sells tickets for journeys across Great Britain and much of Europe. It describes itself as a rail-tech business built around split ticketing, where a single journey is bought as several tickets when that works out cheaper. It sells Advance, Off-Peak, Season and GroupSave fares across UK train operators, plus railcards, Eurostar, airport express services such as Heathrow Express, and tickets for trains in Italy, Spain, France and Germany. It also lists coach and flight booking and passes for Japan and other Asian rail networks.
What stands out is the price comparison and the extras around it. The site says it is an official National Rail reseller, and it runs a Best Price Promise, refunding the difference if you find the same fare cheaper elsewhere, subject to terms. Digital railcards can be bought through the app, and railcards for 16-25s, 26-30s, Two Together and families are on sale. It suits commuters, students and anyone planning a longer UK or European trip who wants a single place to compare operators.
For UK shoppers, fares are priced in pounds and tickets arrive as e-tickets straight away, with paper tickets collectable from station machines using the card you paid with. The app says it has no booking fees, while the website may add a fee shown before you pay. Advance tickets cannot be refunded, and off-peak and anytime tickets carry a £4.99 cancellation fee per ticket.
Sells 16-25 and 26-30 railcards, which give a third off most fares.
