About Panificio Pasticceria Righetto
Panificio Pasticceria Righetto is a bakery and pastry shop in Barbarano Mossano, in the Berici Hills south of Vicenza in north-east Italy. Dante Righetto started the bakery in 1951, and today it is run by the third generation, the four Righetto sisters Marta, Alessandra, Cristiana and Marzia, with their mother Liliana. The family stresses local ingredients and says its ovens run on energy from its own solar panels.
The online shop, in Italian and English, sells the bakery's long-life products, priced in euros including Italian VAT. There are almond cantucci and Veneti biscuits made with local olive oil, cornmeal biscuits such as Zaletti and Vicentini, the crumbly Fregolotta and Sbrisolona cakes, oat and turmeric crackers and pan biscotto, a twice-baked Vicenza bread. At Christmas and Easter it adds panettone, the Fiocco (its alternative to pandoro) and several versions of veneziana, a Venetian sweet bread that is baked to order.
The important thing for UK shoppers is that the checkout does not offer the United Kingdom as a delivery country. It ships to Italy, most EU countries, the United States, Canada and Israel, so it suits sending a gift to friends or family there rather than ordering to a UK address.
